The principle of giving begins with God himself

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”. -John 3:16

Our heavenly Father not only gave everything during the single act of sacrificing his Son for us, but has established this trait as part of His nature and character. God designed generosity and the practice of giving to be an act of worship (1 Cor. 16:2). Our heart attitude towards giving acts as an indicator that points to what we value most in life.
